The activities and programs of Lutheran Education Australia are consistent with the Constitution of the Lutheran Church of Australia. The Board of Lutheran Education Australia (BLEA) reports to the LCA General Church Board.
LEA’s principle objective is to set strategic direction and establish the nationally consistent policy environment for the Church’s schools. LEA’s objectives are set out in the LEA Constitution.
LEA leads teams and working groups comprising representatives from LEA and Regional Offices.
The National Leadership Team, which includes the LEA Executive Director and each Regional Office Director, meets regularly and provides updates via the LEA e-news.
The Formation Team supports staff in Lutheran schools and early childhood services to grow and develop understandings of Lutheran theology in action.

Provides support for teachers of Christian Studies in the classroom.
The Leadership Development Team which includes Directors of Leadership from all Regional and National offices is responsible for leadership development opportunities such as the Leadership Development Program (LDP) for teachers and principals.
This Reference Group which includes staff from Regional and National offices working in the early years education and care space is focused on matters specific to early childhood and care in Lutheran education communities.
From time to time LEA establishes projects and groups, with budgets approved and endorsed by the LEA Board.
