Ministry and worship in schools and early childhood services are guided by a series of policies, which are adopted across the country. These policies cover Lutheran Church of Australia doctrine and practice.
Lutheran Education Australia administers national policies on behalf of the Lutheran Church of Australia that provide guidance for support in schools and services.
Our policies support collaboration, manage risk, and ensure a nationally consistent approach to mission and ministry in education.

Leadership and management of Lutheran learning communities is enhanced with robust policies, guidelines and resources to assist leaders in schools and early childhood services. Leaders are encouraged to review and keep up to date with these materials.
Staffing of Lutheran learning communities is guided by a set of policies covering matters including accreditation and inclusion. Leaders and administrative staff are encouraged to familiarise themselves with materials.
Pastors play an integral role in supporting the spiritual health of Lutheran learning communities. Pastors, Chaplains, District Church Councils, school leaders and administrators are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the policies and guidelines relating to the role of Pastors in our communities.
The LEA Service Award, sometimes referred to as the “retiring award”, is for the public recognition of more than 20 years of dedicated and exemplary service to Lutheran education, when a person retires or ceases substantial service to Lutheran education.
